Meet

Anmol (Annie) Sandhar.

Reaching out for therapy often comes at a moment when life feels heavier than expected; when you’ve been strong for too long, feel misunderstood, or find yourself caught in patterns you can’t quite name. Many of my clients arrive carrying anxiety, emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, cultural pressure, or the lingering impact of painful relationships. Beneath these experiences is usually a quiet hope for clarity, healing, and a space where someone genuinely understands what they’re carrying.
I offer a warm, intuitive, and grounding space where you don’t need perfect words to feel understood. Clients often describe my presence as a deeply perceptive someone who recognizes emotions, patterns, and unspoken truths beneath the surface. I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology (Honours) from Yorkville University and am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. My work is centred on helping individuals reconnect with their inner wisdom, resilience, and sense of empowerment. As a Clinical Coordinator, I support practicum students, oversee programs, coordinate clinical processes, and help ensure high-quality, ethical, and accessible client care. Most importantly, I assist with connecting clients to holistic services.

I am inspired by the strength people carry, especially those who have spent years navigating life alone or in silence. My practice is rooted in supporting clients through reflection, emotional clarity, and healing that feels compassionate, intentional, and deeply human.

My journey into counselling is deeply shaped by seven years in the non-profit sector, where I supported individuals experiencing homelessness, parolees, incarcerated individuals, at-risk youth, and those living in harm-reduction or group-care environments. These experiences strengthened my belief that every person holds inherent dignity and the capacity to heal when offered safety, compassion, and respect. As a South Asian therapist, my own experiences navigating cultural pressure, silence, and identity have also shaped my commitment to culturally responsive, intuitive, and empowerment-focused care.

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach integrates humanistic, client-centered values with evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities, including CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based practice. I also incorporate reflective intuitive insight, cultural understanding, and holistic elements for clients who resonate with a mind–body–spirit style of healing. I pay close attention to both the spoken and unspoken, supporting clients with insight, safety, and emotional grounding.
I value compassion, empowerment, cultural humility, intuition, and emotional clarity guide my practice. I hold space gently and without judgement, fostering an environment that is grounding, relational, and attuned. My priority is that clients feel safe, understood, and supported as they explore difficult emotions, reconnect with themselves, and move toward meaningful change.

Population that I prefer working with

I am especially called to work with adults navigating anxiety, relational trauma, gaslighting or manipulation, cultural and generational pressures, identity challenges, and self-worth concerns. I have a deep passion for supporting South Asian/Punjabi clients and first- or second-generation immigrants. I also welcome anyone who feels aligned with my intuitive, compassionate, and empowerment-focused approach.
