My name is David, I am completing my masters at Yorkville where I have enjoyed learning many elements towards a professional counselling experience and one that I have become fond of the humanistic approach especially Person-centered therapy. I have felt connected to this as I am inspired to connect with others, and believe therapy should support meaningful change.
My journey into counselling has been shaped by my own personal growth and my role as a father and husband. These experiences have helped me see how people can feel stuck or overwhelmed, often without fully understanding why. I’m drawn to supporting others in slowing things down and making sense of their experiences in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
Person-centred and integrative, with a focus on reflective exploration and practical, forward movement
I value creating a space where clients can show up authentically and explore their thoughts and emotions without feeling pressured to have immediate answers. I don’t see therapy as a place to rush toward solutions, but as a process of understanding, where clients can take the time they need to make sense of their experiences.
I am drawn to working with adolescents, especially those navigating the impact of technology and social media on their mental health, self-image, and relationships. At the same time, I welcome working with individuals of all backgrounds who feel aligned with my approach.
