Meet

Jennifer Allen

I believe healing occurs when people feel truly seen, heard, and understood. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and holistic, recognizing the deep connection between the mind, body, emotions, and lived experience. With more than 15 years of experience as a physiotherapist and training in counselling psychology, I support clients navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, perfectionism, burnout, chronic pain, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. I also work with survivors of abuse and trauma, supporting clients in rebuilding safety, self-trust, self-compassion, identity, and connection to themselves.

I integrate intuitive, evidence-based, and strengths-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and emotionally focused, person-centered care. I believe each person’s story matters, and I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences with curiosity and self-compassion while building on their existing strengths and resilience.

Having lived and worked across multiple countries and cultures, I value culturally responsive and inclusive care. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and tailor therapy to each person’s unique values, goals, and experiences. My aim is to help clients move back into alignment emotionally, mentally, physically, and relationally, while incorporating practical tools and insights in order to navigate challenges and create meaningful, sustainable change in their lives.

My Therapeutic Approach

Effective therapy occurs in a safe 'container.' Ensuring that clients feel safe to express themselves in a non-judgemental environment is critical to my work with clients.
