Hello, I'm Katie

I know that reaching out for support can feel tender, awkward, brave, and maybe a little scary all at once. One part of you may feel ready to talk while another wants to keep everything tucked away. I welcome all of that.

My approach is warm, creative, collaborative, trauma-informed, and rooted in curiosity. I care deeply about creating a space where you can feel safe enough to show up as you are, rather than as who you believe you are supposed to be.

My own experiences with counselling have deepened my respect for healing, resilience, and the complexity of being human. I am especially drawn to supporting people navigating PTSD, attachment trauma, self-doubt, psychosis, addictions, or a desire to reconnect with themselves.

In our work together, clients experience me as

Warm · Creative · Curious · Compassionate · Authentic

My therapeutic approach

My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, collaborative, and parts-based. I draw from approaches that support self-awareness, emotional insight, and a more compassionate relationship with the different parts of ourselves.

Some protective parts may carry anxiety, fear, worry, or self-doubt. Rather than judging or trying to push them away, we can become curious about what they have been trying to do for you.

I aim to offer a respectful and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to move at your own pace.

Working with me, you would learn to:

  • Understand the protective patterns behind anxiety, fear, or self-doubt
  • Relate to different parts of yourself with greater compassion
  • Deepen your emotional awareness and self-understanding
  • Strengthen self-trust
  • Reconnect with your clarity, curiosity, compassion, and creativity
  • Develop a more grounded relationship with yourself

Training & professional development

  • Master of Fine Arts
  • Internal Family Systems-informed workshops
  • Ongoing professional development and clinical training

Availability

Monday and Friday: 11 AM–4 PM ET
Tuesday and Thursday: 11 AM–5 PM and 7 PM–9 PM ET
Wednesday: 12 PM–6 PM ET

Fun facts

When I’m not doing counselling work, you can usually find me looking at or making visual art, listening to music, spending time with cats, riding my bike across Canada, or walking by the beach.
