Hello, I'm Kristin

I am guided by curiosity, a deep belief in human resilience, and the transformative power of being truly heard.

What has shaped me most on my journey into counselling is people. I have had the privilege of listening to individuals from many different walks of life and have seen how meaningful it can be to feel heard without judgment or agenda. Authentic human connection is not a small part of healing. Often, it is the heart of it.

I especially enjoy supporting people in helping professions who are experiencing burnout or compassion fatigue. I am also drawn to working with people navigating immigration, intercultural relationships, belonging across cultures, and life transitions, whether chosen or unexpected.

I know what it means to carry a heavy load and to feel the relief of having someone walk alongside you. Those experiences shape the warmth, respect, and compassion I bring into every session.

In our work together, clients experience me as

Warm · Curious · Creative · Compassionate · Culturally humble

My therapeutic approach

My approach is integrative, creative, trauma-informed, and client-led. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

What guides the work most, however, is you: your story, your strengths, your goals, and what feels useful at a given moment. I practise with cultural humility, meaning I will not assume that I understand your experience before you have shared it with me.

I believe meaningful change happens through a safe and authentic relationship where you feel respected, supported, and free to move toward a life that feels meaningful to you.

Working with me, you would learn to:

  • Develop greater self-compassion
  • Build a kinder relationship with your experiences
  • Understand the patterns, values, and strengths shaping your life
  • Feel greater agency in the choices available to you
  • Re-author the stories that may no longer serve you
  • Navigate transitions with greater clarity and support
  • Experience being cared for when you are usually the person caring for others

Training & professional development

  • Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, in progress, Yorkville University
  • Master of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health, King’s College London
  • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Concordia University
  • Global Affairs Advanced Consular Training

Availability

Sunday through Wednesday evenings, PT

Fun Facts

Originally from Montreal, I have lived and worked in more than 30 countries and have been shaped by the people and cultures I encountered along the way. I now live in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where Angkor Wat is my favourite running spot. I share my home with my Khmer husband and our rescue family of one dog and five cats.
