Hello, I'm Muqadus

One of the hardest things a person can do is allow themselves to be seen during moments of struggle. I believe therapy should be a space where you do not have to carry everything alone or feel pressured to have it all figured out.

I support individuals navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, cultural identity, emotional overwhelm, academic or career pressure, and attachment difficulties.

Coming from a South Asian background, I understand how emotional struggles may be minimized, misunderstood, or kept private. This has shaped my commitment to creating a culturally sensitive space where you can feel heard, validated, and accepted without shame.

My goal is not to change who you are. It is to help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become buried beneath survival, expectations, or self-doubt.

In our work together, clients experience me as

Warm · Empathetic · Validating · Authentic · Collaborative

My therapeutic approach

My approach is person-centred and integrative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and psychodynamic perspectives, adapting our work to your needs, goals, comfort, and lived experiences.

Together, we can explore patterns, process emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward meaningful growth. Compassion, empathy, and authenticity guide my work, and I want you to know that your experiences matter and your emotions are valid.

Healing does not begin with having all the answers. It begins with feeling safe enough to be heard.

Working with me, you would learn to:

  • Develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself
  • Strengthen your sense of self-worth
  • Express emotions with less shame or self-criticism
  • Build healthier boundaries
  • Recognize patterns affecting your wellbeing and relationships
  • Develop emotional-regulation and coping skills
  • Feel less alone in carrying life’s challenges

Training & professional development

  • Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, in progress
  • Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology
  • Peer support training
  • Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals, Student Member
  • Ongoing professional development in evidence-based approaches

Availability

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: 11 AM–6 PM ET

Fun Facts

Outside of counselling, I enjoy baking, going on late-night drives, and watching almost any movie or show. I am especially fond of going to the theatre and try to go nearly every week.
