You do not have to carry this alone.
Losing someone suddenly can feel overwhelming, confusing, and deeply isolating. You may find yourself searching for answers, carrying emotions that feel hard to process, or unsure of how to move forward.
This connection circle offers a gentle, supportive space to navigate grief with others who understand.

What This Circle Is About

Grief after an unexpected loss can affect every part of life—your sense of self, your relationships, and your understanding of the world.
This circle provides a calm, structured space where you can:

  • Be where you are, without pressure
  • Share if and when you feel ready
  • Feel seen, heard, and understood

Grief is not something to fix, but something to move through in your own time

Common Experiences

You may be experiencing:

  • Feeling overwhelmed or unsure how to process what happened
  • Carrying guilt, anger, or unanswered questions
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others
  • Feeling alone in your grief, even when others are around
  • Not knowing what moving forward looks like

If this feels familiar, you are not alone.

This space is for adults who are navigating the loss of a loved one due to:

  • Sudden or unexpected passing
  • Accidents or illness

I started this support group when I recognized that I needed a colleague and a friend in one person. Therapist is not the same as a friend and a friend cannot be a therapist. So, why not make friends who are therapists and support each other through challenges, celebrating glimmers and showing shimmers.

  • Gentle grounding practices to help you settle into the space
  • Weekly themes that reflect different parts of the grief experience
  • Guided reflection to help you process thoughts, emotions, and questions
  • Opportunities for optional sharing, listening, and being witnessed
  • Support in understanding and navigating complex emotions such as grief, anger, guilt, or confusion
  • Space to explore meaning, memory, and your ongoing connection with your loved one
  • A closing integration to help you leave each session feeling supported and steady

Each session is approximately 2 hours and includes grounding, reflection, connection, and gentle closing.
You are always welcome to participate in a way that feels right for you.

Benefits

Through guided reflection and shared experience, participants often begin to:

  • Feel less alone in their grief
  • Express emotions in a safe and supported way
  • Make sense of their experience over time
  • Reconnect with themselves and what feels meaningful
  • Explore how to live with loss, rather than move on from it

What Kinds of Activities Are Included

Each gathering is gently guided and may include:

Guided reflection prompts to help you explore your experience.

Gentle integration practices to support you after each session

Grounding practices to support emotional regulation

Meaning-making reflections around your relationship and loss

Small group or circle-based sharing (always optional)

Memory-sharing or storytelling, if and when you feel ready

Guided themes that reflect different stages of grief

Quiet witnessing and listening, without pressure to respond

This is not a structured therapy session or a place where you need to “perform” your grief.
It is a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

Maybe you're thinking...

Will I have to talk about what happened?

No. There is never any pressure to share. You are welcome to speak, or simply listen and be present.

What if my grief feels too overwhelming?

Everything you are feeling is welcome here. This space is designed to support you gently, at your own pace.

I don’t know if I’m ready to be around others yet.

That’s okay. Many people come feeling unsure. You can participate quietly and take things one step at a time.

What if my experience is different from others?

Every loss is unique. This space honours your experience exactly as it is, without comparison.

I don’t want to be told how to ‘move on.’

You won’t be. This circle is not about moving on. It’s about learning how to live with your loss in a way that feels meaningful to you.

What if I don’t have the right words?

You don’t need them. Being present is enough.
