Meet Mina Ibrahim

(Mina Hanna)

Hi! My name is Mina Hanna, and I am completing my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology with the goal of becoming a professional counsellor. My path into counselling grew out of personal experiences of growth, cultural transition, and a deep curiosity about the human mind and resilience.
Before counselling, I worked as a medical doctor and later in the insurance risk sector, where I learned to recognize patterns, assess risk, and appreciate each person’s unique story beyond the data. Over time, I realized my true passion lies not in evaluation, but in helping others make sense of their experiences, find meaning, and build emotional balance.

Having immigrated to Canada, I understand the emotional complexities of adapting to a new culture, redefining identity, and balancing personal and professional life. This experience allows me to connect deeply with immigrants, refugees, men navigating emotional change, and individuals facing relationship or career transitions.

My Therapeutic Approach

In my practice, I prefer to integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Adlerian and Psychodynamic approaches, along with Gestalt and Psychodrama principles to deepen awareness and foster self-understanding through experience and reflection.

My approach is human-centred, collaborative, and strength-based, supporting clients in reconnecting with their inner resources and creating meaningful, lasting change.
